A new major version already. This time mostly for backward compatability reasons.

Upgrading from version 1.x.x to version 2.x.x will neccessitate some config changes if you configured more than the bare minimum and/or if want to keep the same layout as before.

The html output is also markedly different because of a refactored html layout design caused by a new usecase. So if you have custom html/css code there might be some work to get the same result as before.

Layouts

There was a new feature request for a documentation layout. Of which you can see the result in the new design of this very documentation website.

To facilitate this, an entire rewrite of the html template system was needed. In this rewrite, the no_tabs toggle has been merged with the new Styling feature.

While working on this, we've also added a Website navigation menu. And as a part of the feature request, the Table of Contents and content view panes have been added.

Removed/Changed

• toggles/no_tabs has been moved to Styling. See also NoTabs Mode.
• The default layout has changed from tabs to documentation. Read more: Styling#Layouts.

Bugfixes

There was an issue with paths not being resolved correctly on Windows, as the behavior of pathlib differs inextricably between Windows and Linux. (On Windows, if the path does not yet exist then path.resolve() would not create an absolute path out of a relative one). This was fixed by making sure the folders are created before running resolve.
